NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) -

New London police are searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery of a local business.

Police said they were called to the Orient Express Market on Truman Street around 10:30 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a disturbance.

According to police, three people walked into the store and begun to cause the disturbance in an attempt to lure the clerk away from the counter.

Police said when the clerk attempted to call police, one of the suspects pushed him away from the counter and grabbed cash out of the register.

The three subjects then fled the store in a light brown or tan four-door Toyota sedan. They were last seen heading west on Truman Street, police said.

The suspects are described as a white female and two black males. One of the males was approximately 5'6" tall and the other was about 6' tall and appeared to be in his 30's.

Police said approximately $300 in cash was taken during the robbery.

Anyone with information into the incident is asked to call the New London Police Department at 860-447-1481.
