HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

One of the most overweight animals the Hancock County Animal Shelter said they have ever received stepped hoof into the facility on Monday.

According to the Hancock County Animal Shelter Director Toni Accardo, the 250 pound, hybrid pot belly pig named "Tofu" was dropped off by a family who picked him up from another family.

She said his first owners, who originally called Tofu, Bacon, couldn't keep him because they live in the city limits. That's when they gave the pig to another family. But, Accardo said, that family couldn't keep him because their dog didn't like him.

Accardo said, at 50 to 75 pounds overweight, the four-year-old pig is potty trained and domesticated.

"He's really sweet and eats just about anything," Accardo said. "He does well with other animals."

For anyone considering picking up this big boy, he unfortunately is no longer up for adoption.

"He was adopted by a veterinarian. He will not be made into bacon," Accardo said.
