The first so-called "insurance store" is opening in New Britain.
Connecticut's health insurance marketplace, Access Health CT, has scheduled a grand opening ceremony Thursday. The store is located at 200 Main St.
A second store is expected to open later this month in New Haven.
Access Health officials say Connecticut is the only state to open storefronts as part of the federal health care overhaul rollout. Modeled after Apple computer stores, the enrollment center will offer in-personal assisters to help guide people through the enrollment process. There are also individual compute work stations where individuals can shop for insurance options and enroll in plans.
The New Britain store will be open noon to 8 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
