Old Saybrook fire officials said a large portion of the town was without power Thursday morning.
According to the Connecticut Light & Power website, 1,072, or 16 percent of the town was in the dark.
Fire officials said a primary line came down near the train station, and that interrupted power to the station.
Officials said that in order to repair the line, CL&P crews needed to shut off the power supply.
Power was fully restored around 10 a.m.
