Stamford man wins big jackpot on scratch ticket

Posted: Updated:

A Stamford man is likely having a pretty good week after he won $1 million on a scratch ticket.

Adil Nagiev bought a $1,000,000 Jackpot scratch ticket from a local convenience store on Prospect Street and hit it big.

"I finally got a $1 million winner," store owner Parish Patel said. "I'm just so blown away. Anytime my customers play the lottery I always tell them 'Your win is my success.'"

For selling the ticket, the store will receive a $10,000 bonus check from CT Lottery.

Nagiev chose to take a lump sum payout, and for that he received $790,900 before taxes.
