Three Connecticut mayors were included in a recently released list by the Huffington Post where it describes the most "embarrassing" mayors in U.S. history.

The list was made a after recent comments by Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who admitted to smoking crack during one of his "drunken stupors."

The Huffington Post chose mayors who displayed "embarrassing and sometimes disgusting" during their political tenures.

The three Connecticut officials were current East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo, former Waterbury Mayor Philip Giordano and former Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez.

Maturo, who was recently re-elected, said he would support the Latino community by "eating tacos." Maturo made the comment just hours after four East Haven police officers were arrested by federal agents on charges they harassed and targeted Latinos in the city.

Perez was found guilty of bribery and extortion charges in June 2010. He later resigned as Mayor of Hartford.

Giordano was convicted in 2003 and sentenced to 37 years in prison on federal charges of violating two preteen girls' civil rights by sexually abusing them while he was mayor.
