Police have arrested 20-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting in New Haven in July.
Brian Gibson, 23, of New Haven, was shot outside of the McConaughy Terrace public housing complex in the area of South Genesee Street around 12:30 p.m. on July 3. Gibson was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
On Thursday afternoon, Jahmal Fulcher, 20, of New Haven was arrested by the New Haven Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Office.
"It hadn't taken long for detectives to develop Fulcher as the prime suspect in the July afternoon homicide," police said in a statement Thursday.
The fatal shooting of Gibson came less than 12 hours after two other people were shot in the Elm City. One of them was 19-year-old Errol Marshal of New Haven, who was shot and killed on the front porch of a home in the 200 block of Division Street.
