Journalists are often allowed to go places most people can't. Then, they put their storytelling skills to work, sharing their experience with viewers. That's one of the many reasons Courtney Zieller fell in love with being a reporter. Courtney has covered stories from inside state penitentiaries and the aftermath of severe tornadoes and flooding. She has worked undercover unveiling the lives of panhandlers. She has also interviewed numerous political and prominent figures.

Before heading back east to Connecticut, Courtney was out in the Midwest. She worked at news stations in Illinois, Iowa and South Dakota. She wore many hats during her 8 year stint there. She anchored, produced, reported, and even shot her own stories.

Joining the Channel 3 Eyewitness News team at the end of 2012 has brought Courtney closer to her family in Connecticut and around New England. Courtney graduated from Wethersfield High School and Central Connecticut State University. She continued her studies at New York University, when she realized journalism was her passion.

In her free time, Courtney is a high school volleyball official. She also enjoys outdoor sports, hitting the beach, and traveling.

Courtney looks forward to bringing the stories that matter to you. You can follow her on Facebook, Twitter or email her at
