A man who tried to break up an argument in a Tempe neighborhood was shot in the leg for his efforts.
The man heard the argument between a man and woman he didn't know in front of a residence near Elliot Road and McClintock Drive about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, said Steven Carbajal of the Tempe Police Department. Carbajal said that as the man tried to break up the argument the other man turned, shot him in the leg and ran.
The suspect was later tracked to another residence in the neighborhood and taken into custody, Carbajal said.
No one else was involved in the altercation and no other injuries were reported.
There was no word on the condition of the victim..
No other information was immediately available.
