PEORIA, AZ (CBS5) -
A crash at the entrance of Peoria High School involving a Peoria police car sent five people to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash happened in the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Cholla Street about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, a Peoria police spokeswoman said.
The police cruiser collided with the back of a minivan carrying five people, including four children. Four people in the van were taken to a hospital. It was not immediately known which person in the van was not hurt.
The officer was also hospitalized with minor injuries suffered when the police cruiser's air bag deployed, the spokeswoman said.
Peoria police were investigating the cause of the crash.
No other information was immediately available.
