29 arrested in Bulloch County drug bust

A drug bust in Bulloch County on Nov. 21 resulted in 29 arrests and the seizure of drugs and guns.

The Statesboro Police Dept.'s Crime Supression Unit and the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office Drug Suppression Team launched the drug operation in September to target high drug trafficking areas.

Eight search warrants were executed. A large amount of cash, 2 lbs. of marijuana, 1.2 ounces of ecstasy, 2.5 ounces of cocaine, 1 ounce of crack cocaine and seven handguns were seized in the bust.

"The goal was to arrest people that were involved in drug sales and drug use in the city and in the county. I think it sent a message. They know we're looking at them," said Officer Justin Samples.

More arrests are expected. Warrants for drug-related charges were issued to 20 of the identified suspects.

Martavious Hobbs, 23, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of the sale of marijuana and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Thomas Brinson, 42, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of four counts of a sale of cocaine.

Dartarian Braziel, 29, of Statesboro was arrested on charges of two counts of the sale of marijuana, two counts of sale within 1,000 feet of a housing project, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession of drug-related object.

Chaqika Wilson, 23, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possess of a drug-related object.

Tobias Gadson, 27, of Statesboro was arrested on charges of two counts of sale of marijuana and two counts of sale within 1,000 feet of a housing project.

Shinte Thompson, 41, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of the purchase of cocaine, one count of obstruction of LEO and one count of a probation violation.

Donald Young, 56, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of sale of cocaine, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana, one count of possession of drug-related object, one count of possession of Schedule IV and one count of maintaining a disorderly house.

Al Christopher Deon Ponder, 27, of Statesboro was arrested on charges of one count of sale of cocaine, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug-related object.

Charles Clifton Torrence, 41, of Statesboro was arrested on charges of one count of sale of cocaine, one count of sale within 1,000 feet of a housing project, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and one count of possession of drug-related objects.

Arell Hobbs, 30, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of two counts of the sale of cocaine, two counts the sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession of drug-related objects.

Edwin Stewart, 33, of Statesboro, was wanted by authorities.

Dennis Eugene Smith, 21, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of the sale of marijuana, two counts of sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of park, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of  park and theft by taking and criminal trespass. He had an outstanding warrant on simple battery charges.

Gloria Elliott, 25, Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of sale of marijuana, one count of sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park.

Frank Hancox, 25, of Statesboro was arrested on charges of one count of sale of marijuana.

Vincent D. Peterson, 35, of Statesboro, was arrested on charges of one count of sale of cocaine, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Darrell Key is was arrested on charges of one count of marijuana possession.

Jeremy Key was arrested on charges of two counts of marijuana possession.

Anthony Roberson was arrested on charges of two counts of marijuana possession.

Alfonzo Tippins was arrested on charges of three counts of sale of cocaine and one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Micah Drummer was arrested on charges of two counts of sale of cocaine.

James Clark was arrested on charges ofthree counts of sale of cocaine, three counts sale of MDMA, two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of possession to distribute MDMA, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of tampering with evidence.

Gary Allen was arrested on charges of one count of possession with intent to distribute MDMA and one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Larry Hendrix was arrested on charges of two counts of the sale of cocaine.

Marilyn Robers was arrested on charges of three counts of sale of cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of possession of firearm during commission of a crime and one count of possession of cocaine.

Willie Stone was arrested on charges of one count of sale of cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession of firearm during the commission of a crime.

Georganna Noe was arrested on charges of one count of obstruction of law enforcement officer.

William Cone was arrested on charges of one count of the sale of marijuana.

Javarus Whitefield was arrested on charges of one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession of firearm during the commission of a crime.

Thomas Reese was arrested on charges of one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
