Dale Andrew Davis, 22, of Savannah pleaded guilty Monday in Effingham County Superior Court to a felony charge of sexual exploitation of children.

"Davis was distributing videos on Jan. 29 that depicted a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct," Sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

Judge F. Gates Peed sentenced Davis to 10 years of probation, with 120 to 180 days to serve, a $2,000 fine, and banishment from Effingham County, according to court documents.

Davis must register as a sex offender and must report on Dec. 27.

"Davis was one of five men who were arrested in a child pornography sweep in April in Effingham a and Chatham Counties by the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force of the Effingham County Sheriff's Office," Ehsanipoor said."
