Two teenagers in Bristol have been arrested after police said they were responsible for breaking into a city home Thursday night.
Just after 7:30 p.m., police said they responded to the area of Blakeslee Street and Stage Coach Road after an off-duty Connecticut State Police trooper reported seeing two men dressed in black, carrying backpacks and acting suspiciously.
The trooper said when the two men saw him, they ducked into the woods.
Shortly after that, police said they received a call from a homeowner on Blakeslee Street reporting a burglary at his home.
The two men fitting the description were spotted walking on Queen Street near High Street, which is located near the burglarized home.
Police said when they went to stop the two went to interview them, the continued to walk away. Police then ordered them to stop and they took off running.
Police were able to capture one of the men, who can't be identified because he's 17 years old. Bristol police were also able to capture the other teen, identified as 18-year-old Anthony Carrero, of Harrison Street in Bristol.
Police said they were able to recover evidence from the scene linking the two males to the crime.
Carrero was charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.
He was held on $200,000 bond.
The unidentified 17-year-old boy was turned over to his parents and faces the same charges as Carrero. In addition he was charged with possession of burglary tools and interfering with police.
