WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

Police said there is no evidence to corroborate a report that a child was abducted from a playground in Windsor Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to a report of a possible abduction of a girl between the ages of 5 and 6 at the playground at Poquonock Elementary School just before 1 p.m.

A witness told police that a man wearing a black beanie hat and a blue jacket was seen walking with a child toward a car parked in the Poquonock Elementary School parking lot.

However, police have no evidence to show that this incident was an abduction at this time.

"Thus far, the police investigation has not obtained any information or evidence to corroborate this incident," the Windsor Police Department said in a statement Friday.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Windsor Police Department at 860-688-5273.
