A Stamford lawyer continues to battle the administration of former Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia even after a new mayor has taken office.
The Stamford Advocate reports that attorney Joe Sargent has brought three members of Pavia's cabinet before the state Freedom of Information Commission in the last days of their official tenures.
Sargent, a Republican who ran unsuccessfully for the Board of Finance, subpoenaed several city employees in connection with three Freedom of Information complaints.
He accuses the city of denying him access to public records until after he filed Freedom of Information grievances.
Assistant Corporation Counsel Chris Dellaselva says the city is complying with the law, but is understaffed and overwhelmed by information requests.
The state FOI Commission has fielded 59 complaints involving Stamford or one of its agencies since 2010.
