LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Now in its ninth year, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run will include more than 10,000 Santa look-alikes running the streets of downtown Las Vegas.

All of those athletic Kris Kringles will cause some lane reductions this coming Saturday. Setup for the event will begin at 4 a.m. and festivities will wrap by 2 p.m.

You can expect lane closures at Las Vegas Boulevard and Carson Avenue as well as Fremont Street and Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth streets.

The race will begin at the Fremont Street Experience, continuing past several Las Vegas landmarks. Las Vegas will attempt to keep its reigning title of World Santa Challenge champion, a competition with cities including Liverpool, Tasmania and Osaka, to see which city can bring out the most Santas.

Country superstar and Las Vegas Strip headliner Shania Twain has been confirmed as the grand marshal of the Las Vegas Great Santa Run.

Registration is $40 for individuals, $35 for team members and $25 for kids 12 and under. Day-of registration is $50 for adults and $35 for children. Registration includes a five-piece Santa suit and gifts.
