Metro police are searching for a couple of crooks who invaded an elderly woman's home early Thursday in Old Hickory.
The 86-year-old woman found two men rummaging around in her bedroom on Turner Street about 2 a.m.
She began to yell, and that startled the suspects, who ran out the front door.
Neighbors say the incident has left the community a little on edge.
"We keep our doors locked and a ball bat in our hand. Yeah, it's puzzling to know that somebody would actually come into your house. I don't know. Kind of scary," said neighbor Derrick Paschal.
Police don't know what the two suspects were after, but they left empty handed.
Neighbors say the woman was possibly targeted because of her age.
