Man steals TV from Walmart, pretends to faint to escape

Posted: Updated:

A Euclid man pretended to faint in an attempt to escape a Walmart store with stolen items Thursday night, according to Eastlake police.

Police say the incident happened at 6 p.m. at an Eastlake Walmart Thursday.

James Bradford, 63, was preparing to exit the store when a greeter asked for his receipt of purchase.

That's when Bradford fell to the ground.

While the greeter turned his back, Bradford took off running through the parking lot.

Eastlake officers were in the area and arrested Bradford shortly after, and he was taken into custody.

Police say Bradford attempted to steal a 32-inch flat screen TV valued near $300.

Bradford was transported back to the Eastlake Police Department where he was charged with theft, resisting arrest,  and a failure to appear warrant through the department in relation to a $105 theft of gloves in 2009.
