SOLON, OH (WOIO) -

On December 6, 2013, at approximately 2:39 P.M. the Solon Police Department learned that an unknown individual contacted the Walgreens in Twinsburg stating that a bomb would go off at Solon's Walgreens if they did not load $5,000.00 on Green Dot Card.

Solon officers responded to Walgreens, located at 6270 SOM Center Road, and advised management whereupon the store was evacuated.

Officers shut down SOM Center and Bainbridge Roads. The SEALE Bomb Squad and a explosive detection canine responded to the scene.

The K-9 checked the interior and exterior of Walgreens and no suspicious packages or devices were located. Solon Police opened up the roadways and the building was deemed safe and re-opened at 4:04 P.M.

The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for investigation.
