The annual Sprint Cup Awards banquet brought the 2013 edition of NASCAR Champion's Week to a close on Friday, and it became ladies' night.
The drivers' wives and girlfriends got the majority of the flashbulbs on the red carpet at the Wynn.
"It's really fun but I feel like a fish out of water for all of it," said Amy Reimann, girlfriend of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Others had a different perspective.
"This is the favorite part of every girl's year," said Samantha Busch, wife of Kyle Busch. "We get to come to the red carpet and get a dress instead of being out on pit road. We have a blast at it."
2013 Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson said he owes this night to his wife.
"It wouldn't be possible if my wife wasn't as cool and as awesome as she is, so I'm in good hands and very thankful," Johnson said.
Danica Patrick arrived as a date for boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Patrick had a dress emergency earlier in the day, not having one long enough for the banquet, but Stenhouse saved a potential spinout.
"Sure enough he found this dress and these shoes. We walked right to it and I'm like, 'I am impressed,'" Patrick said.
Comedian Jay Mohr impressed as the banquet's host, apparently he's a perfect match for NASCAR, or so he said.
"I hope it's like peanut better and jelly and chocolate and peanut butter or Captain and Tennille or Hall and Oates, I just hope I'm Hall," Mohr said.
There was one man on the outside looking in this week all week long, 2012 champion Brad Keselowski. He had to hand the championship trophy back to Johnson tonight.
When asked how much it stunk not being a part of Champion's Week, Keselowski said "Here's the thing, you have to understand the festivities aren't that much fun - the money is."
Champion's Week is contracted to return to Las Vegas through 2017.
NASCAR CEO Brian France responded to rumors that the final race of the NASCAR season could move to Las Vegas in the future. He said NASCAR is happy with its current schedule, but he would not completely rule it out.
