The Northwestern District Attorney's Office told CBS 3 that Mauricio Velasquez, 32, of Springfield, was arrested in connection with Saturday's double fatal crash.
He is facing numerous charges, including motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor.
The district attorney's office said Velasquez was driving a vehicle that included two passengers, one being his 3-year-old daughter.
They said he crossed the center line on Hendrick Street and struck a pickup truck with two people inside.
Velasquez's daughter died due to the crash.
The driver of the truck, Charles Hoffman, 71, of Easthampton, also died from the collision.
His female passenger sustained serious injuries.
Velasquez is being held on $50,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
