Vehicle slams into Milford home

MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A vehicle slammed into a Milford home Tuesday, but police said luckily no one has been injured.

Police said just before 9:30 a.m. a vehicle traveling on Minute Man Drive was crossing Sentinel Hill Road, when it lost control on the snowy road and crashed into the home.

Milford Fire Battalion Chief Bob Turner said the snow made the street extremely slippery and the driver "lost control, lost traction and slide down the hill up onto the curb and into the house."

The structure was occupied at the time. The woman inside had just left the bedroom where the truck hit. However, no injuries were reported.

Fire officials said the house appears to be stable enough for the owners to stay inside. A carpenter worked all Tuesday afternoon to close off the hole to keep some of this weather out.

While all this was going on, a woman who is 9 months pregnant, found out she may have to stay in the hospital Tuesday night to wait for the birth of her baby. So police went back up the treacherous hill where she lives to get her overnight bag.

The crash remains under investigation.
