With Winter Storm Ashford set to arrive Saturday, many hope holiday packages will still arrive on time.
UPS officials said the only time they will not make deliveries is if the state or major roadways are shut down. They have been delivering in the snow for 107 years, UPS officials said.
UPS officials said they have their own meteorologists in Louisville that send weather reports throughout rough weather.
All packages have bar codes. Employees with UPS use the bar code to determine if a major storm is in the area where the package will be delivered. If so, they will plan for extra drivers in that area.
If a state plans to shut down its roads, they have their drivers park their trucks in the snow. They also have a plan for post-storm deliveries.
UPS officials said they would appreciate if homeowners shoveled a path for the drivers to deliver a package, especially if they are expecting a package.
