Police investigate hit-and-run in Bristol

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run in Bristol.

Officials said a woman was struck by a car on a busy stretch of road in front of the LA Fitness and Walmart on Farmington Avenue.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stopped, checked on the victim, and then drove off.

Officials told Eyewitness News that the 35-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was taken to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are now searching for the driver of a late model green colored Buick LaSabre. Witnesses told police the driver is a white male in his fifties with shoulder length hair and a scruffy mustache. He was wearing a dark or brown bulky coat and tan pants.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Bristol police.
