Good morning from the weather center, Nicole here, finally back after a few days out sick. Hopefully this warmer weather on the way will help many dealing with the cold and flu season feel some relief.
Today, we sit ahead of a very weak cold front. We'll see plenty of sunshine today, with highs reaching the middle 50s to low 60s. As the front moves closer, wind will pick up, especially this afternoon. It will generally be from the NW in the mountains and SW Upstate, from 10-15mph gusting up to 25mph. Overnight, the cold front will approach and cross our area, though it's such a weak front though that we'll barely notice much of a change. Mountain towns bordering Tennessee could see some clouds cover briefly tonight between 9-midnight as the front passes, and in the highest elevations snow flurries are possible. The rest of us will continue to see generally clear skies overnight. In the wake of the front we'll stick with clear skies on Wednesday, though we'll be slightly cooler in the upper 40s to mid-50s. By Thursday we back into the 50s and low 60s, with sunny skies again. Our next chance for rain moves in late Friday night, and will be on and off through Saturday.
