Nearly 800 nurses and technicians are returning to work at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London after a four-day strike and lockout by management.
Hospital and union officials say workers will return beginning at 6:45 a.m. Thursday and will work under the terms of their prior contract while negotiations resume.
Hospital spokesman Mike O'Farrell told The Day of New London that management worked to make a smooth transition between 150 to 250 departing replacement workers and the returning employees. The replacement workers have been caring for patients since the strike began Nov. 27.
Nearly 300 hospital workers gathered for a pep rally and information session with union officials Wednesday at Ocean Beach State Park.
