Grinch steals AZ FedEx packages

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A real-life Christmas Grinch struck again, stealing FedEx packages from Valley homes. Once again, the thief was caught on camera, thanks to the homeowner's security system.

Surveillance video shows a white SUV driving up to a North Glendale home, hours after FedEx made a delivery there.

A man made his way to the front porch, grabbed the package, then took off.

"Oh my gosh I can't tell you how weird and strange. It feels horrible," said homeowner Diana Lougnot.

The stolen package didn't bother Lougnot as much as the thief's demeanor.

"The nonchalant attitude with which he does that is just shocking to me. It's just something else," said Lougnot. "It was like no big deal to him. You could tell from the expression on his face. It was just, "Hey the package was there, let's just take it."

A similar incident happened in North Phoenix just two hours earlier.

A white SUV pulled into a driveway and the thief took all of the packages off the front doorstep.

This time, the thief struck just minutes after the packages were delivered.

The SUVs are similar, but have different rearview and backseat windows, along with different door handles and hubcaps.

A FedEx spokesperson said all couriers are told not to leave a package if they feel it's unsafe to do so, but that wouldn't have helped Lougnot.

"This was two hours later and so I believe that he just drove by and saw the package sitting by the door," she said.
