Police identify body found in Saugatuck River

Police have identified a body found in the Saugatuck River in Westport Friday morning.

An unidentified duck hunter called police and said there was a body floating near the mouth of the river around 9:15 a.m.

The hunter, who was in a kayak, stayed near the body until Westport firefighters were able to retrieve it.

Police have identified the victim as Annette L. White, 45, of Maine. Police said White had been recently been living at a home in Westport.

An autopsy is expected to be performed on the body to determine the manner and cause of death.
