CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

An adult-care provider has pleaded not guilty to abusing three women in her care at her Chandler home.

Krysta M. Douglas, 42, made her plea Tuesday morning in Superior Court of Arizona, according to court spokesman Vincent Funari.

Douglas was arrested in late December 2013 on suspicion of physically and emotionally abusing vulnerable adults.

Court records show Douglas provided care for three women and helped them get to a day program facility.

One of the women got upset about a hair decoration not being in her hair and Douglas reportedly became angry.

Co-workers said Douglas yelled upsetting comments at the woman several times and allegedly shook her.

Three adults and two caregivers later got into a van and Douglas drove recklessly, the co-workers told police.

One woman hit her head on the van's window and reportedly was taken to an urgent care facility to be evaluated.
