TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

Tempe police are looking for a man who stole a piece of jewelry valued at more than $10,000 from a store at Arizona Mills Mall.

The suspect entered Capri Jeweler just before 5 p.m. Monday and displayed a black handgun, officers said. He demanded a specific pendant, and when he obtained it, he fled the store.

A number of officers attempted to find the suspect in the mall to no avail.

Police have been studying surveillance images of the suspect captured by the store's cameras.

He is described as black and in his early 20s. He is 6'2" to 6'5" tall with a thin build.

People with any information about his whereabouts are asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
