Cromwell hotel shooting remains under investigation

CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) -

Cromwell police are continuing to investigate a shooting that was reported at a hotel shortly after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said a party that was being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Berlin Road was coming to an end, and while numerous people were in the parking lot, multiple gunshots rang out.

Cromwell police said officers were already at the scene working a private duty assignment for the party.

"Around 11:40 [p.m.], somebody pulled the fire alarm," said Franklin troupe. "Everyone was clearing out and it was a big rush to get everyone out the building." 

One person was shot and was brought to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation, and anyone that may have information about the incident is being asked to call police at 860-635-2256.
