South Carolina junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft, according to ESPN.
The news should surprise absolutely no one considering the hype that has surrounded Clowney since he first became a Gamecock three seasons ago.
ESPN analysts say Clowney is likely a consensus top 5 pick even after this season where many said he had a down year.
"Before we even put the pads on, I thought we've only got 60 minutes and it's over with," Clowney said. "I'm going to be sad about it. I'm excited to move forward with my life, though."
The Gamecocks just defeated the Wisconsin Badgers in the Capital One Bowl. Clowney registered five tackles in the game.
