A woman was taken to the hospital after getting shot in the ankle in Germantown.
The 24-year-old said the suspect drove up to her and asked if she wanted a ride.
While they were in the car, they got into an argument, which is when the woman says the suspect stopped the car and shot her in the ankle.
She was able to get out of the car and call for help at the Worthington Lofts.
The woman was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a heavyset black male between 25 to 35 years old who is 6' tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds. Police say he was driving a green Chrysler 300 and wearing a blue hat.
Metro police says the woman involved in the incident has an extensive arrest history in Nashville and does not live in the neighborhood where the shooting happened.
