SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Scottsdale motorcycle officer was hospitalized after he crashed on southbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway at the Frank Lloyd Wright exit Tuesday morning, said Officer David Pubins of the Scottsdale Police Department.
The officer was entering the Loop 101 southbound from Princess Drive and saw a vehicle speeding. Scottsdale police said the officer was accelerating in an attempt to stop the driver when his motorcycle began to wobble out of control.
The officer was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered abrasions and a broken rib.
He's been a police officer for five years. His identity has not been released.
