WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut State Police said Interstate 84 east has been reopened after a tractor-trailer fire closed it late Thursday morning.

Connecticut Department of Transportation officials said the interstate was closed between exits 25 and 25A after the tractor-trailer, which was carrying candy, burst into flames.

Crews were able to reopen the lanes to let traffic move, but the shoulder remained closed as they worked to remove the charred remains of the truck from the road.

The whole area reopened around 2 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
