The Phoenix Suns plan to debut their orange-sleeved alternate jerseys Friday night when they take on the Dallas Mavericks at US Airways Center.
The Suns will wear the orange-sleeved jerseys at every Friday home game for the remainder of the 2013-14 season.
Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite orange Suns apparel at each "Orange Friday" home game. To tip off "Orange Fridays," the first 3,000 fans in attendance Friday night will get a P.J. Tucker orange-sleeved jersey drink cooler.
The team says the orange adidas alternate integrates "speed lines" that represent the team's up-tempo style of play, while incorporating symbols that recognize the Suns past.
Nine sunrays across the front of the jersey signify each player in the team's Ring of Honor, while the rising sun on the shorts is reminiscent of that on the original Suns uniforms.
The jersey is also comprised of 60 percent recycled material.
This summer, the Suns became the second team in the NBA to introduce a short-sleeve uniform.
