Police said Jahmal Brangan was arrested in Holyoke on Friday afternoon.
Police said Brangan allegedly entered the United Bank at 1077 St. James Ave. just after 11:30 a.m., handed a teller a note that stated he had a gun and demanded money, according to a Springfield police official.
The teller gave the alleged bank robber an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled on foot toward St. James Avenue.
Brangan has been charged with armed robbery.
