Police: Weed found in Union first-grader's backpack at school

UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Union police said they were called to an elementary school after a first-grade teacher saw a bag of marijuana in a child's backpack.

According to the police report, the high school resource officer was called to Forest Park School on Thursday about the discovery.

The teacher told police she saw the bag inside the 6-year-old girl's backpack and it looked like marijuana, the report stated.

When police tested the leafy substance, they confirmed it was marijuana. According to the report, the Department of Social Services was contacted and the investigation into the discovery was ongoing.
