A Casa Grande father told dispatchers he was stabbed multiple times by his ex-wife while trying to pick up his children on Christmas Day in accordance with their custody agreement.
The Casa Grande police department released the 911 recording Friday.
Caller: "I was just stabbed by my ex-wife, I'm heading to the hospital."
The caller, Adam Villa, was driving himself to a Casa Grande hospital when he notified police he had been stabbed by his ex-wife, Connie Villa.
Caller: "I went into the house and [Connie] got behind me and the next thing, I felt something stab me in the back."
Adam and Connie Villa had three children together and Connie had a fourth, Aniarael Macias, 13, who was later found dead inside Connie Villa's apartment.
An autopsy found that all four children had been poisoned and 13-year-old Aniarael had died from suffocation.
Casa Grande police say Connie Villa admitted to suffocating the teenager but during this 911 call, Adam Villa tells dispatchers he did not see the children.
Dispatcher: "So you didn't see the kids when you were there?"
Caller: "No, I did not see them."
Dispatcher: "Did [Connie] say they were in their room?"
Caller: "She said they were getting their shoes on, I knocked and asked where the kids are and she said they were getting their shoes on."
Adam's three children survived and they're with their father now.
Connie Villa remains behind bars, charged with murdering her 13-year-old daughter and attempted murder of her ex-husband and their three children.
