BATON ROUGE, LA (RNN) - LSU dominated almost the entire game and managed to take down No. 11 Kentucky 87-82 on Tuesday.

The Tigers (13-6, 4-3 SEC) led by as many as 16 points and held an advantage in field goal shooting, making 50.8 percent of their shots compared to the Wildcats' 43.8 percent. However, Kentucky (15-5, 5-2) had better luck making free throws and 3-pointers, scoring 69.2 and 45 percent, respectively. LSU made 61.5 percent of its free throws and 38.9 percent from downtown.

The Wildcats briefly tied the game early in the first half but failed to ever gain a lead. The Tigers' 11 blocks and 11 steals helped keep Kentucky at bay.

Johnny O'Bryant III led LSU with 29 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Mickey added 14 points and led with five blocks.

James Young led the Wildcats with 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Dakari Johnson added 15 points.

The game marked LSU's third straight home game win. For Kentucky, the loss snapped a three-game winning streak. All five of the Wildcats' losses have come from road games or games played on neutral ground.
