GUILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A woman headed home for the day lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a town plow truck in Guilford Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported in the 100 block of North Madison Road about 4 p.m.

The town plow driver, who was not seriously injured, told police he was going about 10 mph while trying to clear the slippery roads when he saw a Lexus RX350 SUV spun out of control.

Police said the Lexus RX350 SUV lost control and hit the end of the town plow. The unidentified female driver, who lives in the area, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The extent of her injuries were not known as of early Monday night, but they were said to be non-life-threatening.

The town plow needs to taken off the road to be repaired.

Officers said the crash was weather related and the Lexus "lost traction on the snow." Police are still investigating. No charges have been filed at this time.
