Walter "Doc" Hurley will be laid to rest Tuesday morning.
Following Monday night's calling hours, the public was invited to remember the Hartford sports icon Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Faith Congregational Church at 2030 Main St. in Hartford, according to the Carmon Funeral Home.
A funeral will take place at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will follow with military honors at the Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Hurley passed away Feb. 9 at the age of 91, the funeral home said.
He was known for his Doc Hurley Scholarship Classic basketball tournament that was played at Weaver High School and a fund he created to help send needy students to college.
