WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A man police said had been deported three times was arrested on sexual assault charges Friday.

Carlos (Perez) Deosa, whom police said had multiple aliases, was found hiding in a basement near 1800 Baldwin Street in Waterbury.

Police said he sexually assaulted someone he knew at an apartment in Watertown on Feb. 6. The victim told them that Deosa had worked "odd jobs" within the building and that's how they knew each other.

Investigators said they were able to identify Deosa after the victim's report. That's when they found out that he'd been deported from the United States on three occasions.

Deosa was arrested Feb. 14 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, and third-degree assault on a disabled person.

Police said he's being held on a $500,000 bond.

The suspect is also being held on an Immigration Detainer issued by the Department of Homeland Security.

Deosa is due in court Tuesday.
