Crews are repairing a water main break in Hartford Tuesday evening.

The water main break was reported on Broadview Terrace around 7 p.m.

The water was shut down by Metropolitan District Commission crews around 7:20 p.m. Workers remain on site making repairs to an 8 inch main, which was installed.

MDC officials said 38 homes and an apartment complex with 150 units is being affected.

Two additional lines were shutoff as well to help facilitate repairs, along Sherbrook Avenue and Chandler Street.

The repairs are expected to take four to six hours to complete. The repairs should be completed between 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
