LONGMEADOW, MA (WSHM) -

Longmeadow detectives have made a second arrest following a string of car break-ins that took place Sunday night.

Springfield resident Angel Cosme, 18, was arrested at his home on East Hooker Street Friday morning.

Cosme and his accomplice, Billy-Alicea Cruz, 18, of Springfield, allegedly broke into seven cars in Longmeadow and stole money, electronics and jewelry. Cruz was caught after a brief foot chase, but Cosme evaded police until their investigation led them to his doorstep, according to Longmeadow Police Sgt. Robert Stocks.

Cosme was charged with seven counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle at night to commit a felony, receiving stolen property and malicious damage after the Springfield Police Department Apprehension Team located and arrested him, Stocks said.
