Wrong-way crash on State Route 2 sends drivers to hospital

ERIE COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a wrong way crash on State Route 2 in Erie County Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say the crash happened near US 250 in Perkins Township around 1:30 PM.

Mary Fox, age 81, of Sandusky, entered the westbound lanes of State Route 2 from US 250 before making a U-turn and continuing east on State Route 2 in the westbound lanes.

Her vehicle then struck the vehicle of Jaqueline Zupka, age 60, of Macedonia, OH, who was traveling west on State Route 2.

Ms. Fox was transported to the hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Ms. Zupka was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
