A man was found dead in a hotel room at the Meriden Inn. Officers responded to 1102 E. Main St. to investigate a report of an unresponsive male.
Meriden police are investigating what they are calling an "untimely death."
According to police, a man who appeared to be in his mid-40s was found dead in one of the hotel rooms.
The Meriden Inn is a place where people can stay by the day or by the week. People who are staying at the Meriden Inn say that police have been looking closely at surveillance video, trying to figure out how the man died.
William Herschler is living at the hotel and said that he has never had any trouble.
"Since I've been there it's been calm. There hasn't been no drama," Herschler said.
There are two floors at the Meriden Inn, and Herschler said that he has seen police going in and out of a room on the bottom floor.
"I think it's scary. Especially since you don't know if it's a murder or whatever the case may be, it can be drug related, it could be anything. It's all in the air right now and we don't know what's going on," said Herschler.
The cause of death has not been determined. Meriden police major crimes detectives and crime scene investigators are investigating this incident.
