WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A woman from West Hartford was arrested for driving under the influence on her 21st birthday, police said.
They said Haleigh MacCloy was driving east on Flagg Road Thursday night when she lost control of her car and struck a snowbank. The car then veered to the left side of the road, struck a second snowbank and flipped onto its passenger side.
MacCloy was able to get out of her Volkswagen Beetle with the help of another driver.
Police said she was not injured.
While on the scene, police said they arrested MacCloy for DWI. They found her blood-alcohol concentration to be .213 and .201.
The legal limit in Connecticut is .08.
She was also charged with traveling too fast and failure to drive right.
MacCloy was released on a $1,000 surety bond. She has a scheduled court appearance of March 13, according to police.
