Two boys escaped a potential abduction after they ran from a motorist who apparently tried to coax them into his vehicle, Phoenix police said.
The boys, between 10 to 12 years old, were sitting outside of their subdivision in the area of 4000 East Desert Forest Trail on Saturday.
The boys said a white Ford F-250 pulled up close to them and the passenger, who is described only as a black male, pointed a handgun at them and told them to get in the vehicle, said Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump.
The driver was described only as a white male.
Both boys ran inside their gated community and informed their parents. Officers circulating area did not locate anything, Crump said.
