FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Fremont Police say Sunday morning was not the first time they were called to the Last Call bar because of Igmidio Mista.

Ramiro Sanchez, 28, who was the bartender, Jose "Andy" Chavez, 26, an off-duty Elmore police officer hanging out at the bar, and Daniel Ramirez, 25, also a patron of the bar, were all shot and killed inside the bar early Sunday morning. Police arrested Mista for the murders on Monday.

According to Fremont Police, officers were called to the same bar because of a fight involving Mista in February of last year. Mista was charged in that incident, and was also cited with possessing an open container and drug paraphernalia in 2012. Police say Mista also has a disorderly conduct charge on his record from 2010.

"He had possession of two passports, which is questionable, because you can only own one passport," said Fremont Police Chief Timothy Wiersma.

Wiersma says Mista was in the United States illegally. He says although Mista's passport expired in 2011, his status did not show up in the department's computer system because he still had a valid driver's license.

According to Wiersma, Mista could be departed – but not before facing justice in Sandusky County.

"He murdered three of our citizens, and we would want to prosecute him here before anything else," said Wiersma.

Mista was arrested at the home of some of his relatives Monday. Those relatives did not want to go on camera, but said they were out of town at the time.

"There was going to be somebody there to look at their animals in the house while they were on vacation," said Wiersma.

That person answered the door when police came knocking Monday. Mista then presented himself. Police say Mista did not resist arrest.

Mista is due in court for a preliminary hearing next Thursday.
